I have no right to &#8211; I was too young to have participated in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crmvet.org\/info\/miss64.htm\">Freedom Summer <\/a> or the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibiblio.org\/sncc\/rides.html\">Freedom Rides<\/a>.  But I hope that I would have stood beside them if I could have. I&#8217;ve written about these <a href=\"http:\/\/www.homecomers.org\/weblog\/index.php\/winning-through-nonintimidation\/\">people<\/a>  and their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.homecomers.org\/weblog\/index.php\/violence-produces-justice\/\">fruit<\/a> before. I keep thinking that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crmvet.org\/\">Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee<\/a> was a kind of movement that we don&#8217;t see today.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They were hopeful.<\/li>\n<li>They were peaceful.<\/li>\n<li>They sought to love their enemies.<\/li>\n<li>They did not love their lives unto death.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We don&#8217;t see that in churches much today either.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On a whim, I added a button to my sidebar.
